  • Bike Friday women-specific travel bikes

  • Description: The average regular bike is designed for the proportions of the average male body. Women’s bikes are often just “pink versions” of these, and ignore the fact that men tend to have proportionally longer arms and shorter legs. Men also have longer upper bodies, which is why many women feel too ‘stretched out’ on their bikes. The large wheel size of a standard bike also limits how small the frame can be reduced before the geometry, and therefore fit, is compromised. Bike Friday’s 20” wheels allow the frame to be custom sized right down to fit riders from as small as 4’0” to as tall as 6’6”. This makes it perfect for the average woman. In addition, a Bike Friday folds in 30 seconds, packs into an airline checkable suitcase, and as Bicycling magazine once said, 'rides as good as your best bike.'
